Purse Charms: A Delightful Jewelry Trend
Often, when you see a new trend hit the marketplace, you have to wonder how long it will be before it's shuttled off to the clearance rack! However, every once in a while, you see something bound to come to be a fashion staple because it fits the criteria for long term popularity. My hot pick for 2007 is: Purse Charms.
What is a purse charm? It's a cross in the middle of a key chain and a cell phone charm. Clip them on your handbag straps or purse rings, they are as easy to turn as a necklace, anklet or any other piece of jewelry. There are three major categories that decide how well a trend will do in the marketplace:
Versatility: You can honestly clip these anywhere, purses, belt loops, etc. Get creative with your clipping! Customer Appeal: Unlimited styles, virtually any standard materials, etc. Wide Range of Prices: From a few dollars to tens of thousands
Evidently, some top designers feel the same. Dooney & Burke, Marc Jacobs are just two of the top designers specifically designing purse charms to sell as accessories to their handbags. So watch for more styles and colors as this jewelry trend takes off and hits the stores.
Want a quirky moment, a momento of a special chance or a reminder of a goal? Keep it on a purse charm. It's the adult version of clipping all those keychains on your backpack as we see kids do nowadays. Purse charms can be any distance and made out of any material including crystals, gold, sterling silver and wood beads. Chunky or chic, there is a style to match your mood.
It's fun, it's overwhelming and it's bound to be nearby for a long time! This is honestly a trend that will earn it's rightful place in the fashion accessory world. And, I'm excited over this jewelry accessory, it's my option for the 2007 Hot Jewelry Pick!

Resizing Your Rings: Most Rings Can Be Resized
People resize rings for many distinct reasons. For some it is weight loss or weight gain, and for others it is naturally to be able to wear the ring on a distinct finger. Resizing is very tasteless and can be done on most rings, but there are some exceptions. To great understand when sizing can and cannot be done, one must understand the process.
Making a Ring Smaller
Decreasing the band size on a ring is fairly easy when done by a jeweler. For the ring to be made smaller, the jeweler must cut out a small part of the band. The ring must then be reshaped to the allowable circular shape and then it can be soldered back together. The jeweler must make a weld that is virtually invisible, and it must then be polished and smoothed so that no indication of the sizing is visible.
This formula can assuredly be used for rings with a plain shank or band. Rings which are ornate or have a develop which carries nearby the perfect band will need to be rebuilt over the sizing. There is sometimes an area on ornate rings which has been left for resizing. This area, however, is normally used for production the ring larger instead of smaller.
Some rings have jewels all nearby the band or are channel style less than half way nearby the band, and may need the jeweler to take off the gems before sizing. This depends on the setting and pattern. For rings being made smaller, the diamonds or gems may be moved to equilibrium the setting of the ring.
Making a ring larger
Increasing the size of a ring can be done two ways. When a ring needs to be made just slightly larger, sometimes a jeweler can stretch the ring to the desired size. The ring needs to be cut and an added piece of the shank or band soldered in if the size growth is a half size or larger. If a jeweler needs to resize an ornately patterned ring, or one with jewels throughout the band, the sizing can pose a problem. The jeweler will discuss options with you which may include changing the setting.
Rings not to re-size
You should not try to re-size a ring which has channel set stones more than half way nearby the band. If the ring has an clarify setting or inevitable types of gems, some of the stones may need to be removed and reset before the ring can be sized. If the ring is an antique or is an older white gold ring, there may be some discoloration nearby the fix area. It is not all the time inherent for the jeweler to know the cause of the discoloration. Most jewelers will make every endeavor to minimize lines or discoloration on the ring. normally it is only noticeable with the use of a magnifying glass. It is imperative that you discuss options with your jeweler.
Celtic rings with the develop all the way nearby the band can be made slightly larger or smaller without distorting the pattern. Increases or decreases of a valuable whole are normally not flourishing without distortion to the pattern.
